Updates on IP Trends in Russia & Cocktail Reception during 2019 INTA Annual Meeting
Last year at INTA 2018 in Seattle we successfully hosted an Evening of Elegance and celebrated our global IP network with our international customers, IP professionals and friends around the globe. Also this year we are present at INTA 2019 in Boston and are arranging presentations on IP Trends in Russia and hosting a cocktail reception on a beautiful private rooftop.
Welcome to hear Updates on IP Trends in Russia on Monday 20 May 2019 at the Revere Hotel Boston Common (Salada conference room). We will present twice at 10 – 11 am & at 3.00 – 4.00 pm followed by a cocktail reception. We are hosting the cocktail reception from 4 to 6 pm at the hotel’s private Rooftop@Revere.

Meet our IP Experts in Boston
Riikka Palmos
Riikka has 25 years of experience in trademarks in Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union, including changes in the trademark legislation and practices, licensing and assignment of trademarks, protection of well-known trademarks, registration of domain names, registration processes as well as infringement and litigation issues in the Russian Patent Office and Courts. Riikka also has experience in Finnish and EU trademark processes, and she handles cases relating to international trademarks. In addition, she is the head of Papula-Nevinpat’s Legal Team in Russia.
Heidi Mikkola
Heidi started her IP career as a Trademark Attorney at Papula-Nevinpat in 1994. She has twenty years of experience in trademark protection, registration processes and infringement cases in Finland and the Western Countries (EU and USA). In addition, Heidi is profoundly familiar with the trademark legislation and practices of Russia and the CIS countries.
Markku Simmelvuo
Markku is an active contributor to Finnish as well as international IP organizations in order to develop and promote the Finnish patent expertise and the entire IP field. Markku is currently a member of the Finnish Industrial Property Group, organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. He is also a member of the Standing Advisory Committee before the European Patent Office (SACEPO).
Annikki Hämäläinen
Annikki started her intellectual property career at Papula-Nevinpat in 2007. Having majored in civil law, Annikki is familiar with the Russian legislation. She is currently responsible for foreign trademark registrations, international trademarks, infringement cases, agreements, disputes, oppositions, appeals and counterfeit cases in Russia and CIS countries.
Jussi Mikkola
Jussi first started his intellectual property career in 2002 at Papula-Nevinpat as a Trademark Attorney. During 2003 – 2004 he completed training at the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM). From 2004 to 2007 he worked as a Trademark Attorney in a Finnish patent agency.
Jussi rejoined Papula-Nevinpat in 2007 where he currently is responsible for preliminary examinations, Finnish and foreign trademark registrations, international trademarks, agreements, disputes, domain names, counterfeit cases, oppositions and appeals. He is also authorized to represent clients before all courts in Finland.
